Non vedere l’ora è una locuzione che significa attendere con grande trepidazione un evento, essere impazienti e desiderosi di fare una cosa. Vuol dire scalpitare, non riuscire ad aspettare, contare i minuti prima che si ottenga ciò che si vuole, vedere che l’ora attesa è troppo lontana rispetto all’avverarsi del proprio desiderio. La frase, dunque, è sinonimo di impazienza e indica un periodo di attesa, più o meno lungo, che separa un individuo da ciò a cui ambisce: “Non vedo l’ora di tornare in Italia per mangiare un bel gelato alla nocciola”.
