I. Italian Verbs in the Second Conjugation


In the previous Act, we looked at verbs in the first conjugation, -are. Now we will learn second-conjugation verbs, which end in -ere.

To form the present indicative (indicativo presente) with these verbs you drop the infinitive ending -ere and add the appropriate conjugated ending to the stem. In the table below you can see how this is done with the verb credere, which means to believe. The endings added to the stem, cred-, are in bold.
